British Fencing operate a register of coaches. This is designed to ensure that the quality and integrity of our coaches and of our coach education system is maintained at a high standard.
The register is published once a month. This allows schools, clubs, companies etc. wishing to employ a coach to check their credentials prior to confirming employment.
Update (May 2018)
QUALIFICATION VS ACCREDITATION (Coach Register)
The BF Coach Register will be moving more towards a recognised professional membership for coaches. Being a registered coach ensures that a coach is qualified, insured and meets safe to practise standards.
A fencing qualification indicates the coach has undertaken formally assessed training. This would provide a guide on the competence the coach has demonstrated, and therefore what and where they can coach.
All coaches displayed on this register have agreed to a code of conduct and are committed to delivering Fencing to people of all ages and from all backgrounds including disability, faith, gender identity, race, sex and sexual orientation.
All potential employers should undertake safe recruitment practice in employing and deployment of coaches.
