ENTRY DEADLINE APPROACHES FOR 2024 BRITISH OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS

Entry deadline is Friday 28th June 2024 

Entries for the British Senior Open Championships and British U14 Open Championships close on Friday 28th June 2024 at 5pm (BST).

The events, which take place on 13-14th July 2024 at EIS Sheffield, with ranking points on offer for Senior, Junior, Cadet and new U14 age group.

The British Open Championships (both Senior and U14 events) are for all Compete licensed members of British Fencing, including those not eligible to compete for GBR and international visitors.

The British Senior Open includes a ‘plate tableaux’ – fencers eliminated after the poules are automatically entered into the plate competition.

Wheelchair fencing events are open events (not restricted to only classified athletes). BF are aware that not everyone who wants to fence sitting down is currently classified or is interested or able to be classified under the Paralympics system.

2024 GB Cup

The invitational GB Cup is also taking place during the same weekend at the same venue. The GB Cup is intended for:

  • adult fencers in the lower rankings
  • those not on the ranking lists
  • fencers who have recently started the sport
  • fencers that have fenced for a number of years but do not currently enter national competitions – but want to start and continue competing locally

Entrants have qualified via regional qualifying events and invitations have been sent. Entrants have until Friday 28th June to accept their place and pay the entry fee.
