Three Weapon Coach required for the Island of Jersey, Channel Islands

Jersey Fencing, the governing body of the sport here, is seeking a lead fencing coach to continue to successfully develop and promote the sport here.

Currently fencing is built around Regent Fencing Club (adults and juniors), coaching in schools, and private lessons. The States of Jersey also fund a midi-fencing programme in Primary schools and beginners sessions for youngsters.

The position is self-employed. As well as suitable coaching ability (L2/3), where we would expect applicants to be able to conduct technical sessions, footwork, lead warm-ups and fencing specific fitness training they would also be required to have energetic and creative skills to market themselves and build, manage and maintain their own fencing business, with the support of Jersey Fencing. There are no other coaches active in this way in Jersey, so we believe that this role presents a unique and interesting opportunity for a coach to have their own exclusive patch, and to build and run their own fencing business.
