COACH REQUIRED: EPSOM FENCING CLUB

Epsom Fencing Club is looking for a motivated foil coach to help grow and expand their club.

Epsom Fencing Club is seeking a skilled and experienced foil fencing coach to join their community-run club. The club has expanded over the last couple of years and they are still looking to grow in both the number of adults and kids fencing at the club.

The successful candidate will have a passion for the sport and be able to inspire and motivate athletes to achieve their goals. The coach will be responsible for teaching and training individuals of varying ages and skill levels in the art of foil fencing.

The coach will be required to work on Wednesdays from 19:00 to 21:30 with kids at beginner and intermediate levels, new adult beginners and improvers (also sometimes beginner epeeists, but don’t let this stop you applying if you only do foil).

Also (TBC) on Thursdays from 19:15 to 21:00 / 22:00 with competitive-level fencers.

Rate:  £25-50 /hr depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop training programs and lesson plans for Foil fencing sessions.
• Provide individual and group instruction to athletes of different ages and skill levels.
• Analyse athletes’ performance and provide feedback on areas for improvement.
• Conduct assessments to determine the skill level of new athletes and develop personalised training plans accordingly.
• Prepare athletes for competitions and tournaments, including physical conditioning and mental preparation.
• Develop positive relationships with athletes, parents, and other coaches.
• Assist with the promotion and expansion of the club, including increasing the number of sessions and extending hours where appropriate.

Club hours:

• Wed: 19:00-21:30 (All levels) at Blenheim High School
• Thurs: 19:15-21:00 (Competitive level) at Epsom College
• Sat 10-1pm in Merton/Wimbledon SW20 9DB.
• Multiple other opportunities at other schools in and around Epsom including Mon 12.30-2pm and 3.15-3.45pm, Wed 4.30-5.50pm, Thurs 3.30-5.30pm
