Club Information: Fencers should confirm their club is up to date on their membership profile before entering, as no changes will be allowed on the day of the competition. Clubs must be registered with British Fencing.
Eligibility Requirements: British nationality, exclusions/restrictions apply to athletes who hold/have held FIE licences for nations other than GB – more info available here

Ranking Points: The 2020 British Senior Championships carries a x2 multiplier for domestic Senior ranking points (i.e. double points)
The 2020 British Senior Championships is nominated for Junior ranking points with a points multiplier of x3.
Format: 1 round of poules with a 25%-30% cut followed by Direct Elimination.
Fencers eliminated from the poule stage of the competition will be promoted to the B Tableau and compete for the British B Championships on the same day. The B Championships will also carry national ranking points as a separate competition with the NIF calculated via the formula below.
“B Championship NIF” = Lower of ( (Points awarded to last placed A fencer / 20) rounded down, (NIF of participating fencers x 2) ).

Entry Fees:
Early bird entry fee: £55 per event (up to 23:55 on 6th March 2020)
Standard entry fee: £80 per event (up to 23:55 on 3rd April 2020)
Late entry fee: £120 per event (after 23:59 on 3rd April). Contact [email protected] where late entries will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
Closing Date: 23:59 on 3rd April 2020
Check In: There is no check-in at this event. Fencers must report to their piste, ready to fence, 15 mins before the scheduled start time.
Poules will be drawn and displayed online at 6pm the day before the competition. Information will also be displayed at the venue.

Withdrawal: Fencers can withdraw up to 12noon the day before their competition. This must be done via email to [email protected] with the subject line FENCER WITHDRAWAL – SENIOR NATIONALS 2020. Your withdrawal will be confirmed via email.
On the day withdrawals can be done via phone – number will be confirmed nearer the time.
Any fencer who has entered and does not present themselves to fence, except in a case of properly authenticated ‘force majeure’, will be penalised with a £250 fine with their British Fencing membership suspended until the payment of fine is received. This fine will not apply if the fencer has withdrawn as per the procedure above. For withdrawals due to illness and injury a medical certificate will be required.

Equipment: All fencers must wear correct kit as per British Fencing rules. This will include FIE chest protectors and 800N sabre gloves (as per the rule at https://www.britishfencing.com/urgent-safety-notice-sabre-gloves/)
Leon Paul and England Fencing will be providing the equipment for the event.
Venue info: There is plenty of parking at the venue. Café and vending machines on-site.
Medical: There will be paramedics at the event throughout. They will be seated in an area clearly marked as MEDICAL.
Welfare: There will be a dedicated welfare officer at the event who will be clearly visible throughout. All welfare issues that arise at the event must be reported to the welfare officer present.
UTF: The unwillingness to fence rules brought in by the FIE on 1st January 2019 will be enforced.
Sustainability: As part of BFs commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our sport, no single-use plastic bottles will be permitted on field of play. We hope that the community will support efforts in this area and ensure that everyone brings re-useable bottles to the venue. Where possible, re-useable bottles will be on sale.
