British Fencing would like to wish his family and friends our deepest condolences and would like to thank him for all his contributions to fencing both nationally and internationally.
How do you sum up a man like Bob Anderson?
His hand, eye and creativity crafted some of the most iconic fight scenes ever produced. Most of the world will have seen Star Wars, James Bond, The Pirates of the Caribbean, The Mask of Zorro and the Lord of the Rings. Bob’s skills brought fencing to life and to a whole new audience; creating a legacy of young people and adults interested in fencing via these iconic films.
His film credits are impressive in their own right, but Bob also competed for Great Britain at the 1952 Olympics and the 1950 and 1953 World Championships.
Bob was both a master of his craft and an inspired creative force and he will be missed.
