BRITISH FENCING SEEKS THOSE WITH AN INTEREST IN SUPPORTING BRITISH FENCING BY SERVING ON THE FIE

British Fencing would like to know who is interested in working for fencing at the international level, on an FIE or European Confederation Commission (EFC), or other aspects of work with the international governing bodies.

Most FIE commissions and working groups consist of members elected, at an FIE Elective Congress, by a universal suffrage of the national federations who are the members of the FIE, while European ones are nominatd by the EFC’s Executive Committee – so candidates need to be known or to get themselves known in the international sphere of fencing. Backgrounds as international fencers and/or team officials or in running international competitions are very useful in this respect.

There are seven FIE Commissions (for details see BFA News item of 10th March 2011) and ten EFC ones.

FIE Commission members also act as observers at FIE Competitions.

Anyone who is interested please contact Piers Martin through [email protected]. There is no deadline for these applications, this process is continuous.
