BBC Sport invites sports clubs across the UK to join the BBC’s Things To Do website and help us to inspire the public to try out sport this summer.

Both not-for-profit and publicly funded organisations who run activities aimed at engaging the public in sport, can add activities to BBC Learning’s Things To Do website and get involved with the sport taster project which will be promoted by BBC Sport this summer. There is an average of 3.3m UK browsers a day visiting the BBC Sport website, which we would expect to rise significantly during the Games, it’s therefore a perfect way to get your sport activities promoted to a wide audience.

BBC Things To Do is an easy to use website that provides the public with a simple way of finding your activities, we hope they will develop their sporting interest further, starting with grassroots sports participation.

As the host nation broadcaster for the London 2012 Olympic Games and host nation radio broadcaster for the London 2012 Paralympic Games, this is part of BBC Sport’s commitment to ensure that the Olympic Games are accessible to all.

We can use our extensive sports broadcasting to harness the excitement generated around the 2012 Olympics and link up with grassroots community sports clubs and organisations across the UK. BBC Sport is uniquely placed to inspire our audience to find and get the most out of local sports clubs.”

How do organisations register sport taster activities?

The 2012 Games will certainly inspire many people across the UK to try out sport. We are looking for sport taster activities from not-for-profit or publicly funded organisations that run from 22 June 2012 to the end of 2012.

There are two routes to register:

• Sign up at bbc.co.uk/thingstodo/activitymaker

• For existing Culture24 partners sign up at via the Culture24 website

Help is on hand to assist you with using the Things To Do website, once registered you can add activities and benefit from future BBC promotion.
