OLYMPIC DRAW
Excitement builds as Olympic Draw is announced at ExCel
With just one day to go before the Opening Ceremony for the London 2012 Olympic Games the draw for the individual matches was announced. The draw was conduction by FIE’s International Technical Director, Ioan Popp, in front of the delegation and the press.
Information regarding the draw for the Great Britain team follows:-
28th July – Women’s Foil 64
10.30am Sophie Troiano vs Natalia Sheppard – the winner will face Corinne Maitrejean (FRA) in the round of 32 at 11.50am.
11.00am Anna Bentley vs Monica Peterson (CAN) – the winner will face Lee Kiefer (USA) in the round of 32 at 1.20pm.
29th July – Men’s Sabre 64
10.30am James Honeybone vs Valery Pryiemnka (BLR) – the winner will face Aldo Montano (ITA) in the round of 32 at 11.30am.
30th July – Women’s Epee 64
11.00am Corinna Lawrence vs Caterin Bravo Aranguiz (CHI) – the winner will face Simona Gherman (ROU) in the round of 32 at 1.20pm.
31st July – Men’s Foil 64 & 32
10.30am Husayn Rosowsky vs Samandi (TUN) – the winner will face Andrea Cassara (ITA) in the round of 32 at 1.20pm.
Richard Kruse and James Davis both receive byes through the first round. In the 32 they are drawn as follows:-
12.20pm Richard Kruse vs Artur Akhmatkhuzin (RUS).
12.20pm James Davis vs Peter Joppich.
1st August – Women’s Sabre 32
1.50pm Louise Bond-Williams vs Vassiliki Vougiouka (GRE).
2.10pm Sophie Williams vs Irene Vecchi (ITA).
