In April 2022, British Disability Fencing (BDF) transferred responsibilities to BF. This page is an archive of information previously held on the BDF website, for reference and historical value.

Operations Committee

The Operations Committee was a working voluntary group delivering the day-to-day operations for BDF.
At the time of transfer of responsibilities to BF, the Committee was led by Viv Mills, voluntary Operations Director who was responsible for the overall voluntary resource of BDF. The Committee delivered ongoing voluntary work.

Each member of the Committee was assigned specific areas to support.

British Disability Fencing, was a Registered Charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee, governed by a Board of Directors. Persons involved were:

Welfare and Safeguarding

BDF adopted the British Fencing policy on Safeguarding and Child Protection in 2018.

BDF believed that collectively as an active and sporting community the welfare of children and adults at risk is everyone’s responsibility. As part of their commitment as a National Governing Body, their Welfare Official was Rick Rodgers.

All registered clubs with British Fencing must have a named Welfare Officer, and a Safeguarding and Child Protection policy in place.
