BIO

Will started fencing at the age of 10 at Truro Preparatory School encouraged by his mother to try to do as much as he could. Coached by Jon Salfield, he was inspired to train hard from an early age as his friends were all in the more advanced group. It worked as he is nine-times age group national champion including three consecutive gold medals at the British Junior Championships.

Since completing his A levels in 2015, Will moved to London to join British Fencing’s World Class Programme with ambitions of qualifying for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Joining the GB men’s sabre squad was a life-changing move, involving relocation from Cornwall but in his own words he’s “loved every minute of being a full time athlete”.

After the closure of the World Class Programme, Will continues to train in London with the GB Men’s Sabre Squad.

When he’s not training, Will spends his time learning how to code and has made several simple web games.
