A year on from the London Olympics and with the buzzword ‘legacy’ still in everyone’s minds, British Fencing’s sponsor Beazley is bringing international fencing to the public, in the first Beazley International Fencing Challenge.

An invitational fencing team match between GB v Poland men’s foil teams will take place outdoors at Exchange Square (behind Liverpool St station), from 6 – 8pm on Wednesday 11 September. The event is free to attend and watch, and Corney & Barrow nearby will be getting into the spirit of the occasion by selling Polish beers and cocktails to enjoy whilst watching the sword-fighting action.

With memories still fresh of Great Britain winning team bronze at the recent European Championships and Poland taking home silver, it will be a keenly contested match with pride and prizes at stake.

Olympic fencing BBC commentators Graham Bell and Karim Bashir will be in attendance to talk the crowd through the action.

Come to Exchange Square to cheer on the team of your choice and enjoy the spectacle of world class fencing.
