British Fencing, the National Governing Body for Fencing, is now seeking two Lead Talent Coaches, one for epee and one for sabre, to join the WCP Fencing team.

Reporting to the Head of Pathway Development and supported by the National Coach, the Lead Talent Coach(es) will drive the technical coaching performance standards for the talent programmes.

The role of Lead Talent Coach will include approximately 80 days each year, to include at least ten weekend camps each year; individual coaching where required between camps; club visits to review athletes; various Talent Selection days and competitions as required. The post will also include additional coordination / administrative duties.

It’s an exciting time to join our Talent Team as we develop our Performance Pathways to the World Class Performance Programme. By becoming an important member of our Coaching Team you will be playing a key role in shaping the future of our sport at a crucial stage in the development of our young fencers.

The successful candidate will be highly skilled in finding effective solutions for high-performance related issues and will need strong relationship building skills to persuade and influence. The role requires experience of planning and implementing a complex programme of work, within a multi- disciplinary team and to agreed timelines. A sound knowledge of the British high performance sports system would be useful.
