One of the biggest changes to UK data privacy law comes into effect on 25th May.

The General Data Protection Regulation, known as GDPR, is a positive step towards you having more control over how your data is used and how you’re contacted. The changes will also help to better protect your personal data.

Following on from the email to all members on 6th April 2018 this is another reminder to all members that at any time you can log into the BF Membership Platform here to check that your personal data is correct and update it if required. In addition, you can review your selected options with regards to how we communicate with you and change them as you wish.

Please also take time to review the current Privacy Policy which describes what we do with data that we collect, and our updated Membership Terms and Conditions which reflect these changes can be found here.

If you use the BF website please read the current Privacy Statement.

We have also published advice and guidance for our clubs which can be found here: (http://britishfencing.com/governance/gdpr_advice/)

As always we welcome your feedback on these.

If you are currently receiving any additional newsletters (such as Coach Digest, Club Digest) you will continue to be sent these and given the option in every email to opt out of one or all of these newsletters.  Please do contact us if at any time you believe you are receiving communications from us that you do not wish to receive.

Please note that we, alongside other organisation in the voluntary sport sector are still working through the impact of the GDPR legislation on the work that we do. This may result in further changes being made to our processes and policies which we will communicate to you via email.

In the meantime if you have any questions please contact us on [email protected]
