NO CLASSIFICATION REQUIRED AT BRITISH OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS

Seated fencing is truly open at the British Open Championships on the 3rd and 4th June. Come try a fencing competition that focuses on the skill at hand, fast paced blade work. No classification required!

BF is aware that not everyone who wants to fence sitting down is currently classified or is interested or able to be classified under the Paralympics system, but we don’t want that to stop people from being able to take part in the sport.

If you have always been fascinated by wheelchair fencing, but you aren’t a wheelchair user day to day, the British Open Championships is your opportunity.

That’s why at the British Open Championships we have seated fencing for everyone!

You can compete in any of the three weapons, BF will have a wheelchair available to borrow for bouts (please contact us if you have any more kit requirements to take part).

  • One Round of Poules.
  • Followed by DE (No Cut) with Repechage for 3rd place and fencing off for places.
  • This format may be adapted depending on entry numbers, the format used will be published after entries have closed.

The event takes place 3rd and 4th June 2023 at the EIS Sheffield, Coleridge Road, Sheffield, S9 5DA. Epee Saturday, Foil and Sabre on Sunday For more information click here.

Why not come and compete? Everyone is welcome, and you may even get the opportunity to fence against some of the best in Britain and learn so much more about your capabilities.

Apply to enter the event via the BF platform.
