After 30 years, Malcolm Fare has decided to step down as editor of The Sword.  The upcoming July issue will be the last that he edits.

During three decades, Malcolm has run The Sword with flair and dedication, eliciting copy from contributors, convincing photographers to share their best material and, from time to time, writing his own insightful articles. It is largely thanks to him that The Sword continues to be so beloved by the fencing community.

I would like to thank Malcolm for all that he has done to ensure the ongoing success of the magazine, and more broadly his continuing contribution to fencing in this country.  At a later date, there will be an opportunity to thank him more formally.

We will shortly advertise for the role of editor, which is a volunteer position.
