Alex Savin appointed BF Calendar Coordinator
BF is delighted to announce that Alex Savin has been appointed BF Calendar Coordinator. This is a volunteer position which reports into the CEO and works alongside the BF Events Manager and the ADP team to support their work affecting the competition calendar.
His role will be to:
- identify issues with the BF Fencing Calendar
- review BRC calendar proposals (responsibility of the ADP team to generate) for clashes with major community events (eg Cadet Winton Cup)
- assist with scheduling of existing BF/Home Nation events and new major EF/Home Nation events (eg Home Nation School Teams & British Schools Teams)
- monitor the scheduling of other major UK events for conflict and resource issues (eg referee availability)
- bring these issues to the attention of the people trying to schedule the events and encourage them to find a sensible compromise
- escalate unresolved issues to the relevant people in BF
- sit in an advisory capacity on the BF Board Events Strategy Working Group
