Applications being accepted for new Coaching and Referees Committees

British Fencing is pleased to announce that it is setting up two new committees to oversee Coaching and Refereeing.

COACHING

In pursuit of the new strategic goals for 2024, the Board is setting up a new Coaching Committee.  Its role is to advise the Board on the strategy and plans to deliver the right coaches and coaching programmes to help grow the sport and to find and develop talented and winning athletes.  The Committee will work to the Board’s vision and strategic goals for the sport.

Members are invited to make suggestions and offer ideas.  Georgina Usher is finalising the terms of reference with the Board so please get in touch with her directly.  If you are interested volunteering to stand as Chair or as committee member please submit your application to Georgina.  All members of the committee will be appointed by British Fencing’s Nominations Committee.

REFEREEING

The Chair of British Fencing, David Teasdale, has tasked Board Director, Graham Paul, with establishing a new Refereeing Committee and running it for six months.  In that time Graham will identify a new Chair to take the committee forward.  Speaking about the committee, David Teasdale said; “I’m grateful for the comments and suggestions already received by British Fencing.  We would appreciate it if those interested in getting involved contact Graham Paul directly.”  All members of the committee will be appointed by British Fencing’s Nominations Committee.
