BF VACANCY: HEAD OF COMMUNICATIONS (MATERNITY COVER)

BF is seeking to appoint a Head of Communications for 15 months’ maternity cover.

ABOUT THE ROLE

British Fencing (BF) – the National Governing Body for the Olympic Sport of Fencing – is seeking to appoint a Head of Communications to cover maternity leave. This is an exciting time to join BF leading up to and during the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

It is anticipated that the role will include a handover period, maternity cover and handover return, spanning 15 months from early June 2023 to early September 2024.

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Head of Communications will be responsible for:

• Delivering BF’s communications strategy and monitoring its impact on new and existing audiences
• Devising and maintaining inclusive, on-brand communications plans with teams across the organisation
• Managing GBR event communications and PR, including activity leading up to and during the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games
• Supervising ongoing projects and internal training on BF’s digital platforms including the BF website, The Sword Magazine, the We Are Forging Futures website and the BF Learning Zone
• Producing media coverage for major BF events, including live streaming to OTT platform(s)
• Collaborating with BF’s Commercial Department to develop and track audience engagement through ad campaigns and website development for We Are Forging Futures, BF’s commercial offering to schools and activity providers
• Managing the content coordinator role and external providers in supplying engaging assets for BF’s content calendar and communications channels
