Four introductory courses are being offered in London, East Sussex, Lancashire, and Suffolk – the last three at PGL centres.
The four Introduction to Coaching Fenicng (ITCF) courses announced in January are now open for bookings. Currently, 12 spaces are available for each:
ITCF is the starting point for fencers wanting to coach. 12 months of fencing experience are the minimum knowledge required for the candidate to follow the training, which will focus on how-to-coach skills. At the end of the course, the Level 1 coach should be prepared to run group sessions for beginners.

Three of the courses announced are taking place at venues provided by BF’s Have-A-Go Partner, PGL Travel Ltd: Bawdsey Manor, Winmarleigh Hall, and Windmill Hill, This represents invaluable support to BF’s Coach Education delivery and is one of the pillars of a 3-year partnership signed in 2023, strengthening PGL’s commitment to expanding fencing opportunities to new participants.
The three courses held at PGL centres will offer accommodation and meals at no additional cost to eligible candidates (please click here to learn more).
