CADET & JUNIOR NATIONALS WRAPS UP IN NOTTINGHAM

Two days of competition saw new champions crowned.

The 13th and 14th September 2024 saw the annual Cadet & Junior National Championships held in its usual home of the David Ross Sports Centre, Nottingham.

As usual, the Cadet (U17) category was on the Saturday, with the Junior (U20) category taking place on the Sunday. Some Cadets returned for the Junior competition.

As well as the competitions in both genders for all weapons, there were U14 Junior competitions in men’s and women’s sabre and foil, along with a DEU Event in foil on the Saturday.

It also featured a seated and wheelchair fencing demonstration, using the new wooden ‘sword seat’, in the lobby of the centre.

All finals on the podium piste at the event were filmed and are available on our YouTube page.

After some issues with live streaming competition over the past year’s events, at this event, the media team decided to record the finals and upload them to YouTube afterwards, with each final available to watch, on average, about fifteen minutes after completion.
