COACH REQUIRED – CRAWLEY SWORD CLUB

Crawley Sword Club is looking for a Level 2 BF registered coach for two hours on a Monday and/or a Wednesday (7pm-9pm).

From Crawley Sword Club:

Salary: Currently £35 per hour

Location: Crawley, West Sussex (20mins drive from junction 7 of the M25 with easy access from Surrey, Sussex & Kent)

We are a large club with both competitive and community fencers, looking for a coach to join the team. Ideally we are looking for foil experience, although epee & sabre experience is also welcome.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver footwork and 1 to 1 coaching sessions
• Manage on the box sparring scenario sessions
• To provide practical day-to-day coaching, as well as devising and implementing long and short-term strategies and development plans.
• Attend competitions as well as training sessions.

Qualifications and Training:

• Minimum level 2 (or equivalent) qualified
• On BF coaching register

Work Experience:

• Experience of coaching, at least at an intermediate level
• Experience of developing athletes and long-term athlete development plans Skills and Abilities
• In-depth understanding of coaching styles and practical delivery
• An understanding of Long-Term Athlete Development
• Good at engaging and manage a variety of age groups, from under 18s to veterans
• Ability to encourage and develop a wide variety of abilities, from beginners to international fencers
• Ability to work independently on own initiative and as part of a team
