CORE COACH COURSE AT JCA

Two eventful Core Coach courses were organised for staff at outdoor activity provider JCA (Travelclass Ltd) on the 22nd and 23rd April 2024.

Operating at several activity centres across the UK, JCA aims to promote outdoor education through multi-activity residential services. A historic BF customer, they have been organising Core Coach courses with us since 2017. While the usual format of the Core Coach course is delivered using plastic kit, JCA is employing metallic equipment.

The two April courses, led by experienced BF coach developers Ev Van Gemeren and Sandra Egginton, were highly successful, with all candidates passing the course.

Reflecting on the experience, Sandra commented,

“I enjoyed running this course. I had the pleasure of working with Dan, a teacher working with BF’s We Are Forging Futures programme: he brought a lot to the two days with his teaching experience and I felt the JCA candidates benefitted from this.”

Congratulations to the participants, who are now prepared to conduct fencing taster sessions at their centre.

What is BF’s Core Coach course?

The Core Coach Offer is designed to connect the Activity Provider and Education Sector to the BF Coaching Framework. It is an entry-point course that will provide delegates with the skills and knowledge to deliver a 1 hour taster session / 6 hours pre-planned taster programme. Depending on the background of the delegates, the course has a 1 or 2 day delivery model.

Who should attend?

Organisations that use multi-sport staff such as schools, uniforms groups, educational activity providers and holiday activities providers.
