EFC U14 YOUTH FENCING FESTIVAL BUDAPEST 2024 – FENCERS INVITED

BF is delighted to confirm the invited fencers for the upcoming U14 European Youth Festival, which will be held in Budapest, Hungary, from June 28th to 30th, 2024.

Competition Date: 28th – 30th June.

Deadline to accept the invitation and make full payment on Sport80:  11:00hrs on Monday 3rd June 2024.

EFC Licence – you need a licence to compete

To compete in this competition, you need a valid EFC licence for the 2023-24 season. You must apply for this via Sport80 before accepting your place at this event.

Please go to bf.sport80.com – log in using your membership login details; click on the Licences tab and follow the directions for an EFC licence.

Eligibility
Eligibility/prioritisation process has been carried out in accordance with the details provided in the expression of interest notice here.

Accommodation, Travel & Transfers

Parents are responsible for these arrangements per the standard U14 and U17 EFC circuit events.

However, the EFC requires accreditation for their event, and fencers must participate in the opening ceremony (see schedule below), which must be factored into travel arrangements.

A selection email from Sport80 will follow this post within 24 hours. Please note that all places must be accepted within 48 hours of notification from the BF membership platform (Sport80) unless otherwise notified.

All BF Codes of Conduct apply to athletes, parents, coaches, and officials, and attention is drawn in particular to the Code of Conduct for Youth Events.

Accredited Personal Coaches
If you wish to apply to attend in the capacity of a personal coach, you must register in advance with BF.  Personal Coaches must apply for accreditation to each event using the following form. As a reminder, personal coaches must not coach against fellow GBR fencers during international competitions.

All coaches, including personal coaches, must be on the BF Coaching Register.

Additional Requirements from Organisers

Please note the variation in the equipment rules and ensure that your equipment meets the required standards.

  • All athletes are required to attend the Opening Ceremony on Saturday.
  • Coaches must hold a valid EFC Coaching licence and wear a full GBR tracksuit.

Kit and Equipment
Tracksuits on Podiums – Full tracksuits are required on podiums. Fencers are encouraged to wear their club tracksuits or ADP tracksuits if they own one. Alternatively, fencers can purchase and wear the GBR development range – link to purchase here.
