The successful candidate will have a passion for the sport and be able to inspire and motivate young and older athletes to achieve their full potential. The coach will be responsible for teaching and training individuals of varying ages and skill levels in the art of foil fencing.

The salary will be competitive for an initial 30-hour week (ratio teaching and admin 2:1) PLUS 1-2-1 lessons conservatively worth £10k p/a. In addition, new sessions added and developed by the new coach (assisted initially by current owner) will be remunerated differently to reward the effort and commitment to growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the promotion and expansion of the club, including developing relationships with new schools thereby increasing the number of sessions and extending hours where appropriate.
  • Develop the existing positive relationships with local schools, sports centres, county association, etc.
  • Assist in management of part time coaches and development/expansion of their sessions.
  • Develop a local schools’ team league.
  • Develop and run half term and school-holiday beginner’s courses.
  • Contribute to the development of our U12 and performance squads.
  • Assist with running county inter-club competitions.
  • Provide individual and group instruction to athletes of different ages and skill levels.
  • Prepare athletes for competitions and tournaments, including physical conditioning and mental preparation.
  • Develop positive relationships with athletes, parents, and other coaches.
  • Assist with organisation and admin of the club to include and not limited to management of, inventory, kit maintenance, comms and marketing, laundry, basic armoury.

Additional questions for applicants:

  • What will you bring to this role?
  • What is your aspiration as a coach?
  • How would you describe yourself?

If you meet the coaching qualification requirement, have car and licence, and are passionate about foil fencing and want the freedom and financial benefits that comes with owning your own company, you are encouraged to apply for this exciting opportunity to grow this successful and thriving club.

Salary: £34,000 p/a with huge potential to increase.
