BF have a series of funded GBR education and development opportunities to individuals who have the motivation and opportunity to pursue a career to supporting GBR fencing at the highest international level. This can be as a  coach, referee or official/team managers.

In order to create the strongest GBR squads to ultimately achieve the best team results possible we need to make the most efficient use of the limited funds that are available.  Therefore these programmes will work together – often using GBR Camps as a mechanism to provide education and development opportunities to participants across the GBR space.

Most of these opportunities and programmes are currently publicly funded and where funding exists the purpose, goals and activities will be agreed with the funding bodies to deliver to the aims and objectives of both BF and the relevant funding body.  As such delivery (by BF) and participation (by individuals) in these programmes come with accountabilities and responsibilities.

None of these development opportunities are intended to fund, provide or replace the bulk of the training and hard work that is required week in week out over a period of years to make it at the highest levels of international coaching or officiating.
