BF Major Incident Management Procedures

Last Updated: 01/07/2024

These are the procedures primarily used for BF run activities which include GBR Pathway Camps and BF run competitions,  These procedures will underpin the information provided to parents, staff, athletes and coaches.

Clubs are welcome to adapt these procedures for their own use.

General Principles

  • All BF run camps and competitions will have at least one Welfare Officer present.
  • Coaches will be assigned responsibility for a group of athletes and overseeing their welfare. If an athlete moves group there will be a formal handover of these responsibilities between coaches.
  • Incident Management Panels will be convened to manage major incidents.

Post Incident Actions

  1. All incident reports will be reviewed by CEO, Pathway Director and BF Safeguarding Lead. Any one of the three can ask for an investigation which may be allocated to an independent person.
  2. The Board Welfare and Safety Director will receive a copy of the incident report and can request an independent investigations.
