GBR MAJOR EVENTS – PERSONAL COACH INSTRUCTIONS

This page is intended to provide additional instructions around authorised personal coaches for GBR Major Events

ALL coaches must abide by the relevant BF policies including GBR-Coaches-Policy-v1.6.pdf (britishfencing.com)

and http://britishfencing.com/uploads/files/coaches_code_of_conduct.pdf.

In addition to the above:

  1. Coaches must have an in date and valid FIE Coach Licence
  2. Have the clear criminal records check and (if DBS used) be on the DBS update service
  3. Coaches are up to date on the coach register, hold a valid Coach Clean certificate and have attended an ADP Safeguarding training session
  4. Have a written coaching development plan or Coaching Health Check
  5. Been attending the other competitions with the selected athletes through the season, with recent Major Event experience.
  6. Been actively involved in producing a documented IADP with the athlete/s they are coaching.
  7. Have an individual documented plan which covers not only competition day but their preparation (attendance at pre-competition briefing, pre-comp camps or training day)
  8. Have demonstrated a set of personal behaviours aligned with a credible performance coach
