The Weapons Framework

The Weapons Framework is a body of research, frameworks and tools designed to inform the expected progression of athletes through the pathway stages. It includes Fencer Athlete Competitor Profiles (FAC Profiles), the Athlete Behaviour Framework, the Biopsychosocial Framework, the GB Style and Leadership & Relationship models.

This knowledge and research informs the design and content of each of the Pathway Stage Components at each Pathway Stage.

The Weapons Framework is therefore also designed to inform the individual athlete profile work and help athletes and their support teams in creating and managing their performance (training and competition) plans.

Every athlete on the ADP is expected to create and manage their own individualised performance plans which will be reviewed on a regular basis in light of the Pathway Stage and appropriate Weapon Framework content.
