FIE to conduct refereeing exams at the Junior European Championships

February 2014 will see Jerusalem host the Cadet and Junior European Championships where the international federation (FIE) will conduct refereeing exams.  British Fencing is keen to receive applications via the Referee Committee.

Suitable candidates will be proposed to the FIE by British Fencing and they will make the final decision on a seat at the exam.  The role of an international referee is varied and once qualified British Fencing will call upon you to represent the federation at Cadet, Junior and Veteran events around the world.  Once you have gained some experience the FIE may call on you to referee at Senior World Cups, Grand Prix, zonal championships and ultimately the World Championships and Olympic Games.
