BF reminds members returning from overseas to follow government and border force rules before returning to club training or competition.
Any members returning to England from overseas must follow the UK government border force rules in place (Entering the UK – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)). These currently include PCR testing (all countries) and a period of quarantine (Amber/Red Quarantine and testing if you’ve been in an amber list country – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)).
There are different coronavirus (COVID-19) rules if you’re:
· entering Scotland
· entering Wales
· entering Northern Ireland
With the exception of members of the GBR Tokyo Squad there are no exemptions to these restrictions in relation to fencing (eg coaching, competing or training abroad).
Failing to follow the appropriate restrictions and attending clubs or competitions without completing the required programme of quarantining/PCR testing may constitute a disciplinary offence.
Competition Organisers and Club Officials are encouraged to review their risk assessments in light of the restart of international competitive fencing and ensure that they have the necessary assurances in place from club members and competitors that they have followed the current government guidelines prior to taking part in activity.
