British Fencing in partnership with England Fencing is seeking to recruit a Development Officer – Clubs and Regions (England) to join British Fencing’s small but dynamic team. Working across England and reporting to the Projects and Programmes Manager, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring, and improvement of initiatives that help to support the aims and objectives of the England regions and clubs.
As the key point of contact for regions and clubs, you will assist them with; strategic development to increase participation, long term sustainability to become financially resilience and effectively communicate best practice and learning/market insight from British Fencing, England Fencing, and the regional teams.
Through building positive relationships and understanding the needs and aspirations of the clubs and the regions, you will identify and develop evidence-based projects that drive an increase in sustainable participation.
British Fencing is seeking an individual with a passion for sport who has demonstrable experience of and enjoys building positive new relationships with a wide range of audiences. As a creative problem solver with effective communication skills, you will have a considered and confident approach with the ability to motivate and lead others.
You will be focused and committed to driving projects to conclusion by working independently and as part of a team. You will understand the value of sport and have knowledge of current themes affecting participation and growth in sport.
Ideally, you will have experience of working with grassroots sports clubs, delivering projects and activities which have led to increases in participation and engagement. You will be proficient in Microsoft office and have skills in using numerous IT packages such as using a CRM.
