KEEPING YOUR CHILD SAFE IN SPORT WEEK 2024

We’re proud to support the NSPCC’s Keeping Your Child Safe In Sport Week (KYCSIS), taking place between the 7th and 11th October 2024.

Safeguarding and the wellbeing of young people are crucial to the work that we do at BF. This week, we’re joining the NSPCC in their annual campaign to highlight the importance of keeping children safe in sport.

You can get involved with KYCSIS Week in the following ways:

Take Part In A Team Huddle

This year, the NSPCC is asking teams, clubs and activity providers across the nation to bring their sporting community together by hosting a Team Huddle. This is a great way for everyone involved in your sport or activity to get together to play, chat and connect. It also provides an opportunity to let parents, carers, volunteers and staff know about the part they play in keeping children safe in sport. Learn more and get involved here.

Guidance For Parents

The NSPCC has a section on their website signposting parents to advice on keeping their children safe in sport. Read more here.

If you’re a coach, club or sports organisation, take a look at the guidance on working with parents in sport.

Show Your Support

The NSPCC has provided guidance and social media assets for you to show your support. Tell the NSPCC what you’re doing to build a safer sporting community by using #SafeinSport on your social media posts. Assets can be downloaded here.

Complete The Course

The Child Protection In Sport Unit (CPSU) has designed a free e-learning course to help parents understand their role in keeping children safe, and where to turn to if they have any concerns. Take the course here.
