Muslimah Sports Association will be hosting a Q&A with US Olympic Medalist, Ibtihaj Muhammad on the 31st March.
Muslimah Sports Association (MSA), with the support of Laureus Sport for Good, will be hosting a conversation with three inspirational women; World Champion Boxer Ruqsana Begum, Chair and Founder of MSA and BF Board Director Yashmin Harun BEM and Olympic Fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad. The event is an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on women’s achievements, as well as the problems they have faced in the struggle to be free and the important role this plays in society.
MSA aims to enrich and empower the lives of ethnically diverse females through sports to improve physical and mental wellbeing. They work to organise and facilitate activities to benefit the participants. Over the years their work has been a lifeline for some of the women involved. The sessions have been a haven and platform to meet like-minded women. A place of solace. MSA has touched the lives of hundreds of women and helped them make transformations; physically, mentally and spiritually.
MSA are also a valued and important partner of Muslim Girls Fence and Chair Yashmin Harun said, “The partnership between MSA and Muslim Girls Fence has opened up opportunities for a community which once thought fencing was inaccessible. By providing these opportunities we have been able to give exposure to an excellent sport which not only challenges the body but also the mind and by linking it to art and poetry has enabled participants to express themselves to their true potential.”
MSA fencing coach and trustee, Reha Ullah said, “We are ecstatic to welcome our fencing hero and legendary Muslimah icon Ibtihaj Muhammad for a groundbreaking union of influential muslimahs in their respective fields all in the same space and for the very first time! This is an exhilarating event for MSA and with the support of Laureus we are delighted to invite everyone to this evening, to converse with these iconic women.”
