Members are reminded to check they hold a valid compete membership if they wish to be shown on the 2021 rankings list by 21st June 2021.
A benefit of holding a BF Compete membership is that you are able to participate in BF licensed competitions and appear on associated BF Ranking lists. The new automated ranking system has a built-in membership check which will automatically remove non-members from BF Ranking lists.
Lapsed compete members as of 21sth June 2021 will not receive the carryover ranking points (30%) and will therefore begin the restart of ranking competitions at 0. This will mean that they will be unranked at the start of the season when seeded for competitions, which may impact an athlete’s journey in their attempt to qualify for competitions such as the 2022 Commonwealth Fencing Championships and other international events.
The new 2021 Cadet & Junior Ranking lists will be published by Monday 5th July 2021. With the Senior and new U23 Ranking lists to be published before the start of the season (1st September 2021).
