Remembering David Kirby
Fencing coach David Kirby sadly passed away on January 18th, 2021.
The following is an excerpt from the announcement from David’s club, Shakespeare’s Swords:
It is with a heavy heart I write to tell you that unfortunately, David Kirby passed away this morning.
As some of you are aware his health had not been good in recent times and he became ill over Christmas and hospitalised. Although seemingly responding well to treatment he contracted COVID-19 and, despite a great effort, was unable to fight it off.
This is obviously shocking news and our thoughts and love go to David’s wife Marguerite, his children and grandchildren, who many of you will have met at Club and on the fencing circuit.”
