Fran Russell said of being accepted onto the programme, “I’m delighted to have been accepted onto the Elevate programme and am looking forward to learning with UK coaching again. This course offers me an opportunity to meet and learn from other female coaches in a variety of sports, as well as develop my coaching skills and confidence in my abilities, to help me be my best coaching self. I am hugely grateful for the support and guidance from BF, and the opportunities given by UK coaching to develop my coaching.”
Steve Kemp, Pathway Director at British Fencing said, “It is critical to the development of our sport that coaches put time aside to look at their own development, be open to learning, looking at ways they can get better. This is such a great opportunity for Fran to meet coaches from other sports and share experiences, explore different ideas and perspectives. I look forward to hearing about the programme as it develops.”
In total, 20 coaches from 15 sports have been welcomed onto the four-month programme running from September 2022 to February 2023.
