A number of Scouts took part in an hour-long virtual refresher session this week, delivered by Helen Solly and Rob Bruniges.
Earlier this week a number of Scout leaders from across the country took part in a virtual refresher session aimed to share new ideas around delivering fencing both online, as well as preparing to deliver in a safe manner when face to face delivery is able to resume.
Armed with wooden spoons, a pair of socks and a toilet roll, the Scout leaders were shown a range of games and activities that could be delivered safely at home with limited equipment.
Feedback from the leaders has been very positive, with a number of them saying it was a well needed motivational boost to support them in their delivery during these challenging times.
Virginia Bailey, Head of Participation at BF said, “We continue to be hugely impressed by the incredible efforts of Scout leaders across the country who are doing such a brilliant job in continuing to engage with young people during these challenging times. It is also really lovely for us to have the opportunity to touch base with familiar and new faces, who want to keep in touch and we plan to deliver another session in March”.
