In episode five of TAP Speaks: Kate Beardmore shares her experience of stepping into the role of a mentor and learning how to effectively support her mentee.
Episode 5 is now available on BF TV
In episode five, Kate talks about the process of discovering how much there was to share with her mentor, “I’m not super confident a lot of the time in myself as a fencer, so I wasn’t sure how much I could give to her. So, when I actually started the process it was really nice to be able to learn that I had quite a lot to give, but then I had to learn how to give it to her.”
Kate also describes the bond created and connecting through shared passions, “Eleanor and I really connected on the passion about talking about women in sport and periods in sport and just opening that up and making it more of an open topic for everyone to discuss.”
TAP Speaks: with British Fencing is a series of eight videos exploring elements of the collaboration between BF and The True Athlete Project. Each week we will be sharing an episode from the series.
