Highlighting the underlying data which will be used for selecting the U17 (Cadet) European Championships plus a reminder of the Selection Policy. Any issues with the data should be notified to the GBR Pathway Team asap – details below.
Selections for the U17 (Cadet) European Championships are currently being reviewed by the Selection Panel in accordance with the Board approved BF Selection Policy.
Selection will be based on performances up to the first published selection point of the 9th of December 2024. (The selection point is the date that the selection data is frozen – all selection points can be found in the GBR Calendars).
Selection Policy Reminder
This lays out the general principles and specific selection process relevant to this event:
5.3.1 GENERAL PRINCIPLES The purpose of selection is to develop athletes and teams for Major Championship success. Unless otherwise stated below, Major Championships selections will be guided by performances in the following order:
7.2 54. If more than three eligible athletes have reached the qualifying standard for the European & World Championships, then: the first three athletes on the respective BF ranking list will be selected. The fourth Athlete and any non- travelling reserve will be chosen/proposed by the GBR Pathway Team at their discretion.
Relevant Data
All of this information is updated throughout the season and is available to everyone to check at any time (including athletes, parents and coaches) in the GBR Cadet Zone.
