WUXI 2025: CADET & JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND-UP

Our Cadet and Junior fencers faced tough competition at this year’s World Championships. With many athletes achieving their personal best, the event equipped GBR with an immense amount of experience.

This year’s event took place in Wuxi, China, on the 7th-15th April 2025.

The Championships kicked off with the Junior Men’s and Women’s Individual Sabre events. Hui Xin Sezille secured a last 32 finish in the Junior Women’s Sabre, placing 20th.

The Cadet and Junior World Championships can be summarised by one of the commitments in BF’s handbook, Call It Attitude: “to have the courage to face the challenges of sport and to embrace them”. Call It Attitude depicts a fencer’s journey to events such as the World Championships as part of the GBR Pathway (formerly Athlete Development Programme), as well as the qualities showcased by them.
